Issue/Question
- Where is my Zoom recording?
- I looked in Zoom and cannot find my recording.
- How do I locate my Zoom recording?
- I recorded a Zoom meeting and can't find the recording.
Environment
- Oregon State University
- Zoom User
- Faculty/Staff
- Students
Cause/Explanation
Zoom users are able to record their meetings. These recordings are automatically migrated into the user's Kaltura account and available to them through My Media in MediaSpace and Canvas.
Note: Zoom recordings are "owned" by the originating host who scheduled the meeting.

By default, all recordings in Kaltura are initially marked as private and accessible only to the video owner. This article shows how a user can publish their recording.
Resolution
Locating Your Recording
- Record your Zoom meeting in the cloud
- End the meeting (recordings will not be completed until the meeting has ended)
- The recording will automatically migrate from Zoom to Kaltura Media Space within a few minutes. You will receive an automated email (with a link) from Kaltura once it's transferred.
- Visit My Media in either Canvas or MediaSpace
- Your most recent recording should display at the top of this page
Zoom Recording Stuck on "Processing Recording..." in Zoom
- The duration of your recording can determine the amount of time it takes to process.
An eight-hour recording is going to take longer to process than a one-hour recording
- If it's beyond 24-hours and your recording still shows "Processing Recording..." in the Zoom interface you may have forgot to "End" the meeting.
Log back into the machine you were running the recording on and ensure you've clicked "End Meeting" - simply logging out of a computer does not end the meeting
- If you find that you forgot to "end meeting" then you will have a very long recording that is going to take an extended amount of time to process. Please wait and then complete the steps found above under "Locating Your Recording"
